( Personality ) :
The Beforan trolls seem to view Kurloz as a guy who's kind of creepy, but generally harmless. Meenah, when talking about the others who played in her session with her, didn't seem to care enough to talk about an exception, and while she was awkward in talking to him, she wasn't afraid to do it. Aranea doesn't like Kurloz, but dismisses her feelings about him, "because he is obviously such a sweet and harmless fellow." Cronus is the only one to say that Kurloz actually scares him, but even despite that Cronus still seems to have made attempts to hit on Kurloz.

That image of Kurloz isn't a complete farce. For one, he has a moirail, who he has been in a relationship with for a long time, and he had a matesprit who he managed to remain close to, even if just for appearances. Using sign language, he talks and jokes around with Meulin, if their conversation of gifs is any indication. When speaking to anyone else, he uses mimes to get his point across. He and Meulin apparently routinely get high together, if Meulin's dialogue is to be believed, and she refers to him by the nickname of Kurzorz. Aranea goes as far as to call him sweet, despite her misgivings about him. He wears a skeleton costume with purple shorts, and wore a Hamlet costume to make a pun on one of Mituna's manglings of "helmet."

But there's more to Kurloz than what most of his friends see, and he keeps it that way on purpose. He thinks that secrets are the greatest miracle of all, and his methods of communication show that- he mimes to people like Meenah, who he doesn't want to know about his plans, rather than using writing to more accurately convey his meaning. Even Aranea, who loves to talk about and know about everything, admits that Kurloz is annoyingly enigmatic- not only about himself, but about things that have happened to others. He's the only one who knows how Mituna burned out, and he is extremely tight-lipped about what exactly happened. On the other hand, he does use sign language with Meulin, but he can and does control her using Chucklevoodoos- because they are in cahoots, he has no qualms with talking to her more directly. The same is likely true of Kurloz and his moirail Mituna, considering Cronus commenting on a rumor that with Kurloz, Mituna is actually coherent. Riddles also help him to hide what he thinks. And, finally, Kurloz has devoted a huge amount of time and effort to carving out passages and hideaways in the dreambubbles to keep his secrets from the others.

People like Aranea and Meenah dismiss Kurloz's religion. Aranea has called it harmless superstition and made several jokes about it. Still, ridiculous or not, Kurloz's religion is extremely important to him. When using his chucklevoodoos, he 'speaks' in a preachy manner; "she will be double slain by our lord like all the mirthless heretics," "so that he may continue our lord's mirthful mother fucking work," "our lord awaits your servitude and tutelage at once," to point out a few examples from his dialogue. It's through him that Meulin was converted, through convincing or through mind control or both. Later, when he finds himself thinking of something heretical, he claims he would have bitten out his tongue, had he not done it already.

Believing in and supporting Lord English as Kurloz does, he has a very violent streak. It's been seen already in his ability to not only sew his mouth shut but actually bite out his own tongue, but he's threatened other characters- specifically, Meenah, when he mentions keeping her in the dark about his plans. It seems likely that he also has made threats toward Cronus. Most obviously, however, Kurloz supports Lord English, and in doing so, wishes for everyone to die a double death, even those who were in his session.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Kurloz has chucklevoodoos, or a seeming combination of telepathy and mind control. Meulin doesn't remember what she and Kurloz were talking about after he releases her from his power, so it likely has some ability to wipe their memory as well. He knows sign language (or, more accurately, he and Meulin figured it out together) and is adept at communicating in mimes. He has some degree of mental fortitude, considering his ability to create a network of hidden catacombs among the dream bubbles.

He is, however, completely absorbed in his religion and essentially worships Lord English as a god, for better or for worse, and he's not likely to be convinced to abandon the ideas of it, even away from the game and the dream bubbles.

Also, being restored to life without a tongue and with his mouth sewn shut, getting enough nutrition is likely to be a problem. Communicating is also likely to be difficult for him, even with the text function on the SFC.
